Removal of Aerokit Cup Spoiler

Looking at purchasing a GTS that comes with the Aerokit Cup package. Not sure about keeping that spoiler on for all time.

What's the process for removing it? Any considerations?

Thanks

It's a whole decklid. You'd have to buy a new decklid to replace it, plus if you want the spoiler in the stock decklid to deploy, you have to also buy a new wire harness. I also think that Porsche recommends against running the front spoiler without the wing, or was it vice versa? or either combination..? Anyone know?

I just answered my own question. Right off Suncoast's site:

Aerokit front bumper

NOTE: Reduces ground clearance and maximum approach angle on gradients. Porsche does not recommend installing this bumper without adding a rear spoiler. Fits all 2009-2012 Carrera (2, 4, S, & 4S) models.

The car would look a bit strange with the front portion of the aero kit only. It might look 'heavy' in the front, without the wing to balance the look.

Not a GTS, but I did the Aerokit front only because I don't like the wing, and I think it worked out well. I guess it's a matter of opinion.

Thanks for the info, I wonder why they say not to have the bumper without the rear spoiler. Does it actually make a performance difference or safety issue?

Have any side shots of your car?

By looking at the car in the showroom I think it would look decent without the rear spoiler. Justing thinking if I decide sometime that I want a more subdued look.

Sure, unfortunately, it's tough to get a clear one of a white car, and this is from an iphone, so the quality isn't great, but I think it's clear enough for seeing how the lines look.

It may be a performance issue at extreme track speeds, but it is definitely not with any sort of ordinary street operation. I tend to keep my stock rear spoiler up all the time, but for aesthetic reasons only.

I asked my dealership about adding a smaller wing and they just laughed and said "it looks perfect now, don't change anything."

That's good thanks. I think it still looks good w/o the rear spoiler.

What did you do with the Aero spoiler? Looking to sell it. If you are, PM me.
Thanks
