I'm going to make an appointment with 3R Racing. 3R does fabrication work and they can discuss the issues of modifying the compartment for the tpc sc. It's the best blower out there, an Eaton 90, like what Mercedes and other manufacturers use.

Luke felt the structural steel issue may be unique to the targa given the roof pillars that maintain the rigidity for the glass. If that is the case, I will probably unload the kit and move on. It fits coupes and cabriolets.

Have you given any thought on just selling the S/C and buying TPC's turbo?

That would be my thought as well. Go with the turbo!

The turbo kit would fit with no problems. Most of the kit is under the rear bumper and where the exhaust system goes.

I may go that route. It seems like one of the next possible steps. I want to talk with the 3R guys first as I really had my mind made up on the S/C set up. Having not driven he car for awhile, it feels pretty powerful right now!

How much would you sell the s/c for if it comes down to it?

I'm throwing in the towel on the supercharger. I can't even muster the excitement to put an exclamation mark at the end of the sentence.

I spoke with Tom at TPC and he said if Luke at Velocity Motorsports says their kit will not fit a Targa, he would have to agree because Luke is very thorough. Tom said it fits a coupe or a cabriolet "guaranteed". They never measured the internal engine bay of the Targa because they would never had guessed it would not fit. There was some discussion on a turbo unit and that may be a possibility after I sell the supercharger.

I was so excited about it, Eaton makes the best known superchargers. Well maybe someone else with a coupe or cabriolet can get the fun out of the unit as it is complete and never used. On plus is the modification to the inlet pipe is free to the whoever buys it, so the top of the engine compartment should not need modification.

Sorry to hear about this, Don. On the bright side, a TPC Turbo would give you much more tunability. Don't lose your dream of going FI!
