Awesome...can't wait to read the results!

I was contemplating of lowering my Targa but decided against it.
I think there will be too many issues if the car is any lower and used as daily driver

Didn't cattman suffer a catastrophic engine failure? I know he claimed it had nothing to do with the SC, but still makes me wonder. I certainly am curious about the extra HP as well, but scared about the risk of blowing up my lump.

Yes John did, but he had a M96 engine (early '05) and it was an IMS failure. I don't know if the SC could have contributed to the risk of failure, he had the engine torn down and said it wasn't the SC.

I can't find any evidence that a SC has ever caused any problems on a 911. I have looked but not found anything yet... If I'm the first, y'all be the first to know! On Rennlist there are 993 owners with 50,000 miles plus on their superchargers that are happy owners and none that I could find that have reported problems.

^Maybe the 993 motor is substantially more robust than our M97 motors and that is why they haven't experienced problems, perhaps?

Only time will tell! Not only are the 993's beautiful, they take a licking and keep on ticking. To your point, here's a thread with a guy considering buying a 993 with 180,000 miles on it and one of the responses is from a guy with a 993 with 194,000 miles on his!

I've got over 20,000 miles on my VF-Engineering SC with no problems. Works fine and lots of thrust. I did add methanol injection for extra safety though.

That's music to my ears! Tell me about the methanol injection system. How does that work?

Lots of information on this subject.
Here are the highlights:
  • Increased octane rating by 8-20+ points
  • Lower air charge temperatures by 50-150+ degree's
  • Reduce cylinder temperatures by up to 250 degree's
  • Cools and protects the tops of your pistons and upper ring
  • Longer more stable combustion expansion and progression
  • Allows you to safely run more timing and boost
  • Safely increase horsepower by 5-15%
  • Reduces & helps stop engine damaging detonation & pre-ignition
  • Removes carbon build up from combustion chamber, pistons and valves
  • No need for expensive racing fuels or additives

How much boost are these kits producing? I would think that a engine that has 12.5/1 compression would have some issues with to much. Also do these kits come with any kind of engine management or a reflash?

The RUF supercharger kit did reduce the compression down to 9.5 and included ECU mods. Don't know if TPC does or not.

IIRC, neither TPC nor VF-Engineering reduces the compression ratio of the engine. They do reprogram ECU's. You will have to send in your ECU for the reprogramming.
