Methanol Injection project complete

Just finished the Methanol Injection project with my buddy Ehrin. Should help cool the engine as well as increase the Octane of the tank fuel. We also added an AEM X-WiFi wideband AFR controller. It creates a car WiFi and sends AFR numbers to my I-phone.

Idle AFR is 14.7
Max boost of 7 PSI shows AFR at 11.5

Very Cool (No pun intended). Did you notice any difference in power delivery? IIRC, you're running a smaller pulley?

I have not noticed an increase in power but the outside air temps here are still fairly cool. I suspect this kit will make a big difference in charge air temp later this summer when OAT is in the 100F range.
Yea, I am running a smaller pulley by one size.

do you run straight methanol or a mix?

Back in my EVO days, i never trusted straight methanol... Too many issues, especially because of the tune was counting a lot on the meth injection. If the pump would fail during boost you would lose the engine 9/10 times...

I am pro MEth injection as a 50/50 mix with water, mostly for the cooling properties...

In any case, very nice install! Congrats!

Why did you put water methanol if the vf kit is already designed to work without this?Which is the outside temperature and the temperature in the air intake?

Guys,

I believe WaltB no longer has this set up. He has a 997TT now, and probably does not spend much time on this forum anymore. Your best bet is to PM him.

Walt installed this kit due to going to a smaller pulley than the one that came on the VF kit. His A/F ratio was just slightly lean on the top end, IIRC. This Meth kit gave him the added protection along with more consistent power in the hot weather where he's from.
