has anyone changed the stock shifter on their 997 for a B & M model? if so, was it worth it.

the B&M reduces shift by 40% and lets you keep your OEM shifter- supposed to be pretty good. We will soon find out.
I'm having my work done by TCM (member here). He might know more info on it- check it out with him

I have a B&M shifter sitting on my shelf that I need to install this weekend or next. How difficult is it to do this? From the couple of responses I have seen to this posting it sounds like it is worth the time and effort.

pete's boster board has links to install, i did on a boxster s about 2 careful hours.

my original question is aimed at a difference in shifting since the Stock shifter on a 997 is touted as being a shorter throw.

let me know how it is after install. thank you.

I would like to know prior to ordering my car. I'm sure the B&M is cheaper than the factory option and maybe a better product. I had one in a Corvette a few years back and it was great.

like night and day.... it feels like going from 1st to neutral...when going from 1st to second with B&M....
