Under the passenger seat.

I had a small item roll under my passenger seat, and I went to retrieve it, and wow, there is not even carpet under there. It looks like a naked floor plan with a ground wire bolted to it. Is that normal?! It seems pretty spare for a car of this cost, despite the half pound of weight it might add. If normal has anyone tried applying a little sound deadening?

normal. and be careful with (SMALL) things rolling under there - looking from the front side, you cant really tell but there is a lip of sorts which opens to a hole/gap under the pan where things can get trapped.
