Clutch Noise

I have noticed a noise from the engine compartment that sounds similar to a failing "fan/power steering belt". The sound occurs after depressing the clutch and occurs on 1st gear from a complete stop. I was able to reproduce the sound by starting the car on 2nd gear and the sound was definitely more pronounced/loud.

I mentioned it to the dealership and according to the SA, it might be that the clutch is glazed and I need to "scuff it" by doing hard launches.

I have been driving manual tranny for so long but I have not had that issue before. Not sure if I should trust SA's advice. Does it sound right?

Thanks.

Yep. It could be a glazed clutch or bad throwout bearing. It's easy to glaze your clutch if you drive in alot of stop-and-go traffic or slip it too much. I've had a few performance cars before and this is the first car that's made that noise. A nice, spirited drive is in order for you.

Is a throw out bearing covered under cpo?

Spirited driving? As in hard launches? PSM off during drive?

Thanks in advance

Just try driving the car aggressively for a bit. Hard accelerations, shifts, downshifts etc. PSM never off on the street!
