Dension Gateway 500s BT Contacts problem
Dension Gateway 500s BT Contacts problem
As the title says, i cannot get my contacts to show up on the PCM... this means i also cannot answer calls or dial out form the pcm.
The screen reads "Insert valid sim card" and all other options on the right are greyed out, as if nothing is connected.
On the flip side, the BT phone feature works and goes through the car speakers ONLY if i call out from my cell phone.... Any ideas?
My phone is a Balackberry 9900, i have never had a problem with this phone in regards to connecting hands-free, contacts, etc.

I have read reviews and don't know if this is related or not that if you have a lot of contacts that it can take a long time (10-15 minutes) for all your contacts to sync to the PCM and it has to do it every time you disconnect and reconnect.
I have fitted one of thses ot my 2005 997 and initially only had 10 contacts appear on the screen.
To get all of them to appear you need to unplug and bridge the telephone MOST unit under the drivers seat.

Interesting... can anyone expand on this?
I states in section 6 (Phone) of the fitting isntructions, that if the Dension unit is to be used for the phone option the original unit should be removed from the MOST ring.

Thanks Johnny!
Informed the installer of the issue, he looked into it right away and fixed the problem.... it was exactly as you say the optional phone needed to be disconnected from the "loop"
Thanks again!
My Dension has the same phone issue. Can anyone tell me where the phone loop is? I presume its the fiber optic cable, but where do I find it?

It's under the drivers seat on my car, RHD, so probably under your passenger seat.
Should be a black plug with two orange "wires" going into it.
You'll need a fibre optic bridge to loop the MOST network.
Should you have trouble, they are available from BMW dealerships. Don't have the part number to hand, but can look it up if you need it.
