997.2 C4S Coupe advice please
Hello All -
I am going to see a '10 C4S coupe, 6 speed with about 10K miles on it. One owner, well cared for car. It does not have PASM or Sport Chrono. The car is for my wife. What do you think I should be paying for this car? I ran book values and they come in at about $76K The seller is asking for more than that.
I am planning on still having a PPI and getting the DME numbers too.
What should I be willing to pay for this?? And finally is it possible to add the CPO coverage to the car if it comes from a private party and is still under warranty?

OK I bought the car today and could not be happier with it. I have plans to go pick it up next Saturday. Once it is in my garage I will post pictures.

It's because posts like yours don't offer enough information. The list of options is important for pricing. Is it CPO or not? Best way to compare prices is the Porsche pre-owned search engine. Sort by type (997 C4S) and mileage and start comparing car prices around the country ('09 to '12). Be sure to take options into consideration, as well as CPO yes/no, etc. Personally I wouldn't want the car without sport chrono. That little sport button makes a big difference to drivability and with PSE, makes an intoxicating sound.
Steve- Sorry; I was vague about the car as I had not bought it yet. The car does have PASM. That was the big one for me- Sport Chrono can be easily added I just would not have the nifty little clock on top of the dash. I can live without that.
Thanks though.
Thanks though.
Sport chrono is far more than the clock. The motor feels lethargic unless you're in sport or sport plus. Both 997S Porsches I've owned have had PASM and I never use the sport setting as it's too harsh. I can't state it's a must. I'd have to drive one without and compare. I'm sure I'd like a KW V3 equipped 997S better than PASM. I do consider Sport Chrono a must and my highly desired option is ceramic brakes. No dust, and a lot of unsprung weight removed which is noticeable in steering and under braking!! Type seats matter to me (I don't like the comfy seats) as does nav/Bose because I'll keep that aspect OEM. Full leather is much nicer than without. The list goes on!!!
KBB is too low on used cars. Since 2009, used car prices are much higher than KBB.
Hope you got a good deal. Having a warranty is always good too but 997.2 is pretty solid.

Thanks everyone for the replies. This is a not a CPO car as I bought it from a private seller. It has over 2 years left on the original factory warranty. I did not know that all S's came with PASM.
On a 6 speed car what does the sport chrono do?
Also, where can I buy a good extended warranty, one similar to what a CPO warranty would cover and for how much $.
