PCM 3.0 Bluetooth and iPhone 5
Been off the forums for awhile.....but......need a little info on my new PURCHASE!!!
Traded in my 06 C2 Cab for a CPO 2010 C2S PDK w/Sport Chrono! Super stoked. Now cruising the forum picking up some info on the 997.2's. Having a problem get my iPhone 5 to connect to the PCM via Bluetooth. I am almost 95% sure this is probably an Apple issue, but thought I would ask. Bluetooth is turned on via the Phone tab on the PCM and Bluetooth is turned on via Settings on the iPhone 5. Both are searching and not seeing each other. Any ideas?

You need to start the pairing process from ONE side. I think I started the pairing from the PCM side, and then keyed in a pin on the PCM which the phone then asked me to repeat. Though I'm not using an iPhone 5 (4s here) but I doubt that standard Bluetooth handshake would be different from the 4S to the 5.

Are you sure you have the bluetooth telephone module installed? Even if you manage to pair your phone to you car, it doesn't mean that you have the phone option. go check with your dealer or at a workshop to be sure. Good luck!

Yes. I have Bluetooth in the car. Initially got the phone paired and it listed my phone on the PCM screen. Here is why I think it's a phone/iOS thing. My little Bluetooth symbol in the top right only stays on while I'm on the Bluetooth page in Settings. As soon as I back out into the main menu (on the phone) the Bluetooth icon disappears. It does this even with personal hot spot turned on. After this happened I couldn't get the phone to repair with the PCM. I may try with my wife's 4 and see if it works with hers.

endo911.. It's exactly what I experienced prior to buying the bluetooth telephony module afterwards (I think it's like $500~$600 through suncoast). Like you, I had false hopes that because the car would pair with the phone sometimes that I could get it to work (make and receive calls) and that it was only a setup problem... but alas no... had to buy the bluetooth telephony module to get it to work.
If you've never managed to pair your phone and use it before then I'm pretty sure you don't have the bluetooth telephony option installed.
Good luck... ! cheers

I got it to pair once. But when I left the Bluetooth screen and went back to general settings and lost the little "b" it lost the connection and hasn't been able to re-establish a connection. I now can get the iPhone to pair with anything and personal hotspot isn't working.

Endo911,
Jungwook is correct. The phone may pair with the PCM, but will not work as a hands free device. There are some microphones and wiring harnesses that must be purchased, also the car needs to be coded @ a Porsche dealership. We have the kit listed on our website here:
http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...2s_electronics
Your vin must be plugged in when completing the order so we can send it off to Porsche for activation.
Let me know if you have any other questions. We will be happy to help.

Well, when at the main screens, if bluetooth is on, you should still see the grayed out bluetooth symbol on the screen. If you don't the bluetooth radio on the phone is turned off (or claims to be turned off)... which would be the cause for not pairing.
So solve the iPhone 5 iOS6.01 thing first (did you upgrade to the latest iOS patch?)

Went by the dealership today. Car does indeed have Bluetooth and all mics/cables etc. The tech got his 3GS to pair and function. iPhone 5 still doesn't see the PCM and the PCM doesn't see the iPhone 5. Tech said it may be a dual problem. Going to an Apple store tomorrow.
