I spent about 2400 for clutch, ended up around 2650 after RMS. Seemed reasonable. Indy was around 1900. I could justify spending an extra 500 to have the dealer perform a major maintenance. Others can't.
Your choice...

Seems really low for dealer work. How much was the PCA discount?

Any body recently replaced clutch & flywheel on 997.2 C4S ? Like to know how much is the labor? Parts are around $1650 (clutch kit + Flywheel) form sunset Porsche. My local dealer quoted around $1700 for labor.

TIA.

I had mine done at the dealer last fall. It was $2200 total with PCA discount. That included replacing the RMS, clutch, pressure plate, and bearing. You only need to replace the flywheel if damaged or out of spec.

2009 C4S. Yes, while they have the RMS exposed you might as well just replace it. It's inexpensive and quick to do. It would suck to have a leak here down the road and need to pull the tranny back out. My dealer said it was standard practice for them when I requested they do it.

I think I paid around $3700 - $4000 for both the clutch and flywheel a few years ago. That was at Porsche of Huntington.

If you are into mods, it would be a good time to invest in a lightweight flywheel. Not sure what a stock flywheel costs but I expect the difference in cost between stock and a lightweight aftermarket flywheel would be reasonable considering the cost of the overall R&R.

PTParks - I just bought a 997.2 4S and the previous owner had put in aftermarket lightweight flywheel and it's making noise on low speeds plus on idling .. The main reason I replacing the flywheel & clutch is due to the noise.. :-).

Thx.

Seems like a fair trade for the improved acceleration.
