Engine noise - please help diagnose (Video)

Sorry for another "engine noise" post. I searched but didn't find anything close to what I'm experiencing. It's a high pitched whistling sound that you can hear at idle and it's consistent. Just started yesterday. I have 28k miles '09 c2s. I've included a video as reference. Would appreciate it if anyone has any ideas or experienced a similar issue. TIA.

Any change buy pushing in the clutch? Throw out bearing.

Could be a loose plug too.

I forgot to mention, it's PDK and not manual. Just started her up this morning and now the noise is not evident....but car is not warmed up. I"m guessing the noise may occur only during and after car has been driven.

Minok has a spectacular aura aboutMinok has a spectacular aura about
From the sounds of it, it is a mechanical rubbing/rotation source.
If it were from a leaky valve or hose, it would be consistent, and if it were related to a cylinder in some way it would be in sync with the engine firing. This off and on, sounds like a rotating piece traveling or wobbling a bit and when it gets to a certain point it whines a bit and maybe changes direction for a bit, then wanders back.

Thanks everyone for your feedback.

And Minok, some good insight.

I'll drive it more over the weekend and see if the sound persists. I'd like to be able to take it to the dealership knowing this whine will be duplicated at the time of my visit.

Wy drive it around? If something isn't right... Take it in and have it looked at and or fixed. It could be a warning sign.

Do you know how to take a long screwdriver or similar and use it as a stethoscope and place it on certain non moving parts(handle side to ear) to isolate the sound... Maybe like was stated a bearing on the alternator or similar. Be careful as there are moving parts!!!

As Hella.... suggested , get it to the dealer, via flatbed tow truck, and have the dealer diagnose it. Driving it around could be a very costly mistake if it's an internal engine issue.

Yes, tech found it was a crack in the purge line valve which they replaced and all is good. Let me know what your tech finds the issue to be...would like to hear if it's consistent.
