3rd Radiator, Zunsport Grills and GT3 smile

Finished up my front bumper mods today with the install of the GT3 bumper smile and thought pics where in order. I like the way it turned out. Adds interest to what was previously just a large slab of plastic. The Zunsport grills are high quality and apart from the fact they require drilling a few small holes to install, of course I get over that once I start cutting the big hole in my bumper for the grill, they look great and with the third radiator add-on the center grill is as functional as the side grills.

not a fan of gt3 grills on stock bumpers. it looks really off balance. you have this aggressive gt3 grill on the front with no lip/spoiler on the bottom and a mild looking rear end with no vents or wing. gt3 grills only look good on aerokit bumpers paired with at the very least a wing on the back or gt3 rear bumper.

I beg to differ . . . . GT3 vent looks great. It's very subtle in appearance and looks right at home. I'm a bit biased of course since my 997.1 has one and the Zunsport screens too.

We mod to our own taste and kudos to you for doing it. I've resisted doing the GT3 grill smile given in my opinion needs a bumper lip and rear wing to balance it out. However, again, we mod as we please. Congrats.

I like it. Beauty is to the eye of the beholder.

Heck, we love our P-cars and I have 2 coworkers who hate them even though they only drive non-M bimmer and Honda. I just smile when they talk smack about Porsches.

I like it too, and am getting close to pulling the trigger on doing the same. I do agree it looks good with a lip or spoiler added, and think I will go that route.
Good job.
Dave.

Dadio, I like it too. I know from personal experience that you can install the Zunsport grilles without removing the bumper but did you remove the bumper to install the GT3 vent?

I have a brand new 3rd radiator kit if anyone is interested. Reasonable offer and it's gone.

I agree completely. The overly aggressive and too low Aero front, and wing on back are not necessary. When there is no front plate, that black smile is perfect for breaking up that vast uniform sea of paint along the front and give the car a distinct front face. With a front plate mounted, I found that this breaks up the monotony enough and a smile added then wouldn't look as effective.

That said, if the read deck could be drop-in replaced for a turbo style rear wing, that combo with the smile looks better.

Yes. You mark the location for the smile before removing the bumper but no way to cut the hole with the bumper installed. Even if you could the grill is attached from the inside which requires the bumper be removed. I used the rennline install kit as it idiot proofs cutting the hole for the smile. Apart from being more than a little disquieting cutting into your bumper it is not a difficult install.

That's because they can't afford one....so they have to be haters to justify their sick beliefs.

I agree with your comments and particularly on the Turbo rear deck as that is, IMO, the best looking wing for the cab and subtle enough for a street car. Have given the Turbo wing some thought but getting the piece painted is a challenge as the best local shops have little interest in that kind of work.
