Crap....just waiting for my hood to fly off on the freeway someday. Fat fingering my fob is really annoying. The buttons are right next to each other and worse while behind the wheel you can't see that the hoods open.
Is there and idiot light I am missing. Don't wear a belt because it rubs my nip and it gets sore so not sure there is a hood open warning.
Plan to buy a manzier so it's more comfortable wearing a belt and hope to stop irritated nip syndrome too.

Yup. It should say, "front lid open" on your dash.
Your lid 'shiould' not fly off. That's the purpose of the latch that you manually push to unhook/unlatch the lid. Again, it 'should' not.
I find the fob to be okay as I never had an accidental opening of the hood. As a matter of fact, i need to 'hold down' the lid button a few seconds before it unlocks. So I am somewhat confused as to how a few owners could accidentally open the hood.

I have drivin with the lid poped open forgot to shut it. Was on the highway to at 55-60mph hoods still intact lol. But yea when the key fobs in my pocket it does somtimes pop the lid not the doors but just the lid i guess some key fobs are more sensitive.
I do it all the time and the valet does it as well. Also it's not all that rare to see a parked car with the hood popped. Those of you that manage to avoid this problem are lucky or perhaps I am just a clutx.
That button is very sensitive. There is an easy DIY fix posted 3 or 4 years ago. You can search and I'll see if I can find it too. Found it:

I'm a little confused though (ok, a lot confused!): how do you folks drive with the ignition key in your pocket? Don't you leave it in after starting the beast?
FYI, when my car was new I experimented by trying to open the lid with the floor switch. The lid will not open while the car was in motion.
Some members should probably stop wearing spandex.
What happens is if I approach the car from the rear to get rarely do I check if the lid is ajar. It can't be seen from the cabin while driving therefore my concern at 70mph is that it will fly off. Happens all the time. Walking up to the car on the way back from getting the mail and seeing the thing open is a freak out.
