2007 911S Exhaust Question

Guys, just got my first 911. She's a 2007 911S Cabrio Seal Grey with Black Leather. Just had Tooki installed and IPOD.
I'm looking to get some exhaust work done. I love the sound of the Exhaust when I first fire her up and then for the next 3 minutes. After that she purrs rather than growls. I want the growl all the time.
AAA Exhaust in Los Angeles recommends that they can take some of the baffling out of the stock exhaust to give it more growl all the time. They want $850 including black matte tips.
Anyone try this?

For $250 you could do a Fabspeed cold air intake.
It bypasses the Helmholtz resonator which "quiets" the car a bit at low rpms

$850 to hack your mufflers is plain rape. You could replace your mufflers with FisterD ones and the growl will be there. the cost is minimal. If you want more, you can replace the cats with 200 cell X Pipes.

Look up Gundo Hack, Many of us have done it on our 997.2... I think the 997.1 is the same... For around two hundred or maybe less..

Adding cats will definitely make it louder. I'm running fister cans with AWE 200 cel cats.

The 200 cell AWE cats give it a wonderful throaty sound. The Gundo hack doesn't require removal of internal baffles in the mufflers. It just involves welding a short piece of pipe between the inlet and outlet pipes on each muffler. Should cost between $100 and $200 after you remove the mufflers. I expect most of the $850 quote was related to the black tips. Seems like all tips are very expensive for our cars. I'd leave the ones you have unless you think it is worth the money for a different look.

Thanks for the responses. Just spoke to FD Motorsports and I'm getting the exhaust Mod from him.
Anyone have any experience with Victor Racing Wheels? Globe motors has 19" that I can use with my stock tires for $1500 in matte black.

Black yes in some cases; matte black is BIG no. OZ is hard to beat for low cost wheels. Lightweight and attractive. Many colors to chose from typically.

Love my black Rugers! One exception being difficulty in keeping them clean. Love my Fister mufflers and black tips also!
