How I route my Battery Tender cable

I use a Ctek which is like Porsche's maintainer. The wires are run down the side of the Frunk. There is no interference any where and the wire fits easily out the front even with lid closed tight. Been doing it this way for over 12 years. First on my 996 and now on my 997. I don't know if 991 Frunk space looks the same. I hope pics show up OK.

I just use the receptacle in the console and close the door on the wire. It doesn't crimp the wire at all so there's no issue with fraying. It also has no impact on the door seal or the paint on the rocker.

Same for me - cig adapter and close the passenger's door on the wire. Plus I can use the car cover this way without worrying about the cord scratching the paint.

Here s what I did,,, Just came out from the battery up to the windshield over the plastic.. You can close the hood with pleanty of room not to hurt the cable and you are not over the cars finish where it comes out from. Tuck in with battery when not in use.

PI plug directly in the cigarette lighter, leave the window a little crack open, plug the charger into the power socket and I am done.

Porsche purposely put a notch on the passenger's side door molding (bottom) just for the charging cable - no need to hang it out the window.

Right. That's the one that I use. Makes it very easy for the cord to come straight out the bottom of the passenger door.

Exactly. Me too. The Porsche tender is designed to be used this way.

Well I see no notch in my door. But even if there is I don't want anything on the side of my car because or other car on one side and need to get my Pugsley down on other side. Also floor on sides of car usually wet with melted snow from 4runner. In Minnesota winter is a constant mess. So in front of car is dry and I don't have to worry about someone getting tangled in wires. So I'm sticking with my method.

Minor nitpick: It's called a battery charger and/or a battery maintainer. "Battery Tender" is the brand name of a different charger.

I've got the Ctek Multi US 3300. It doesn't come with a plug for the cigarette lighter outlet. It has two interchangeable connection leads, one with clamps and one with eyelet terminals. I've got the eyelet cable connected directly to my battery and the clamp cable connected to my lawn tractor. There's a nice watertight connector that connects to either cable.

.

Minor nitpick reply. I have both a Tender and a Ctek that's why I called it a tender I guess. By the way a charger usually puts out around 2 amps when the battery reaches full charge. This is called a trickle charger. You do not want to use one of that type for storage. After a few months on trickle charge you may ruin your battery. The maintainers like Ctek or the battery Tender back off to near 0 amps at full charge so they wont cook your battery. The Ctek is a very smart charger.
