So disappointed!
So disappointed!
First time service experience for my Targa 4S in Singapore.... and what a hugely disappointing experience.
Although my car is a 2007 it's only got 14,000kms on the clock and the previous owner has always taken to the local Porsche dealer here for service...so I thought I'd give it a chance. Only needed lower control arms replaced (hopeless bushes) and a service.
Well, left the car with them for 9 days while I was in Bali to come back to the find the following litany of issues:
1. Bonnet was opened while the wiper arms were up....two nice scratches on the paint.
2. 2 rashed rear wheels from the wheel aligner/ balancer.
3. 89kms travelled
4. Half a tank of fuel used (and the empty warning light on)
5. Intermittent error with the Bose amplifier (no sound at all)
To make it even worse I picked up the car after hours and was not informed about any of it.
WTF!
I EXPLODED at them when I went back today!

'Stuff like this shouldn't happen.
a) Get the dealer to make right on all the issues.
b) Notify Porsche-Asia about this matter.
c) Never, ever go back have them for work on your car. Find a competent Indy shop if you can.
d) If you need warranty work you might have to visit the dealer if they are the only game in town. Inform the 'Service or General Manager' about your previous experience and make sure they take care of both your car and you.
My first visit to a Porsche dealer for service many years ago resulted in a scratched fender. They had it fixed and repainted when I pointed it out to them. Since I've been out of warranty for many years I do most normal service myself and have a great Indy shop I trust to handle things I can't or won't do.

wow, that is totally unacceptable !! 55 miles of joyride & scratches on top of half-as$ed repair ??
it sounds like the service adviser and his team dropped the ball big time on this. Make sure to get the GM involved and work out a fair solution.

While I can see a good test ride being needed if the control arms are replaced, and a service replacing the wiper blades, how does one make a stupid move like not putting them right back down again so that you end up damaging the bonnet? I guess they put the stupid newbies on those sorts of tasks. <roll:eyes>
Make the dealership fix all of it - wheels paint the bonnet, etc. If it costs them money, then they will fix their operational processes to ensure it doesn't happen again, and you will produce a better dealership service center for all. If they get away without financial loss, then they have no reason to get better and you just help produce a worse service department.

What kind of a shop takes a car on a 55 mile test ride????
I would demand DME, stand there as they called up the read out and photograph the screen immediately.
Then even assuming everything was ok.....I'd go out of my way to walk a big dog over there every day, so he could take a dump on the front steps.
That isn't a service facility it's a Heap of Infamy. (With a nod to WC Fields).

My thoughts exactly, if you leave the car there that long someone will take if for a spin. Then the other guy will take it out to run an errand or two.
