I had a warranty dispute with one of the largest tire/wheel distributors a few years ago. Got exactly nowhere with them over a very legitimate claim. Less than 24 hours after I told them I would start threads about their behavior on specific forums they granted the warranty claim and offered 4 new wheels. The system is pretty efficient. If they know they're wrong or if they try to bully their way out of compensating they will give in rather than getting exposed as ******. If they feel they're right and you're wrong, they will wait for your posts and then respond on the forum with their version of the story. We've seen that happen.

Cutters....way to hang in there. Enjoy the new car. That drive home should be memorable.

I'm really happy that Porsche stepped up and did the right thing by you. Now, if only they'd do the same for all the other bad IMS owners out there...

As far as the extended warranty...like most everything "Porsche", it's wildly over priced. Prices on extended warranties are negotiable. Don't consider it unless you can get it for $2k or less...

 

I think my IMS just bombed out on my 997.1TT. Needless to say im out of warranty. Odds are probably not in my favor like the OP. Glad PNA took care of that for you. I wish they would for me...Car going in tomorrow...

 

didn't think the turbo and GT engines had an IMS to worry about?

 

On an 07 at that. I thought it was rare to have it on a 2006 as I recall.

 

Breath a sigh of relief, your car doesn't have an ims. You must have had some other catastrophic failure. Please provide some details.
