It's been a while. I sold my '02 C4 Cab in Oct 2011, and have been kicking myself ever since. I came across a car that I am very interested in.

2 owner car, never hit, middle aged guy, very little records
38,000 miles

Asking 33k (locally)

I'm going to have a PPI done at ROCS soon. What are your opinions?

Purchased a 06 c4s same set up inside with 40k and cpo for 50 - sounds like a good deal what shape is it in?

 

Seems like a good price as long as the PPI checks out. The lack of records bothers me a little though. If you have to make up for 38k miles of poor maintenance the value definately can go away quickly.

The good thing is that at 33k , you can set 7-10k aside for "discretionary" maintenance

Well the deal fell through.
After speaking with the seller 3 times yesterday, and confirming that I was coming over to pick up the car to take it to ROCS for a PPI, he sold it some one else. Worse of all, he didn't even tell me until 20 minutes after notifying him that I was on the way. It was a nightmare of travel for me. I don't care that he sold it, but I do expect some decent courtesy that he made a deal, before making my way over there. What's wrong with some people?


In hindsight, I'm VERY glad I didn't buy a car from this guy. This was a very scummy move.

 

Yeah that didn't sound like it would have been a good idea anyway. On with the search!
