Problem with Rottec rear LED's, buyers BEWARE!!
I have a set of Rottec rear LED lights, they were working fine until last nite, some of the LED's on the top of the light went out. This is not good!
Any idea if they can get fixed? Buyers beware of the Rottec LED's!

I guess individual LED's can go out - I think the fixture is sealed so don't believe you can go in and change LED's. Why "buyers BEWARE"? - I guess you can say that about any product with a light bulb.
+1, why not call Rottec, see if they can help you out. I had a similar issue and got a replacement set.

"buyer beware" my ***, you havent even called Rottec yet to see about warranty. You state you bought them used from another individual and you yourself have owned them for several months, give me a break

I've delt with rottek a few times, every issue I had they fixed, sending me replacement lights. Their products have a one year warantee and they stand by their products. Had you bought from them rather than trying to save a few bucks you would have easily gotten a replacement light, and may still be able to if you contact rottek. After this post I kind of hope you don't.

I did contact them first and they never replied. Reason for buyer beware, is because LED's are not supposed to go out this soon, seems like they have a issue with the electronics. chudso, do you work for rottec? Why say you hope they don't stand behind their product and fix the issue? I'm just trying to give other members a heads up.
I didn't ask the vendor to warranty the lights, I asked if there was a fix or replacement, members here said to contact the vendor. Again reason for buyer beware is these lights don't last! I have purchased products that have not had any issues for years. These LED's seem to have issues with the electronics not the LED's.
You say they do not last, are aware of someone elses that have not lasted? I agree LED's should last longer, much longer, but you do not even know what they have been through because you bought them used. They could have been dropped several times for all you know. I hope all goes well, but I agree the BUYER BEWARE is not called for.
Buying second hand always involves some kind of gamble. You save $$$ but you risk other things.
I think this rule applies to everything in life.
Maybe a more modest approach would fetch better results ?

I too feel the posting is inappropriate and unfair. When you buy used electrical parts you assume the risk in exchange for the savings. This is not Rottec's fault or responsibility. Edit your posting please.
I am somewhat in the middle of this.
Yes, he should be contacting the manufacturer first. However, he does have a point that LEDs should last longer.
I, myself, was looking for a used one but after reading his experience, I am now having 2nd thoughts about buying used ones.
