of buying.
Test drove this Turbo S at the dealership today. (That’s my car next to it) besides having very high miles for its age 2011 with 50,000+miles. It was truly a remarkable car to drive.
Question I have, when we were going along after just leaving the dealer the car went through its gears, right up to 4th. at the grand speed of about 40mph. I was surprised that PDK upshifts so soon and that the RPM’s are so low on city streets. Obviously that changes when the transmission is clicked into “M’.
Why does the car want to keep the revs so low? Do hope this makes sense……

New trick by manufactures to advertise better MPG. The testing is controlled and therefore the manufacture can get what they need out of the car to lower the gas guzzler tax and show they are making better use of gas. All politics as usual.
Sweet ride....but miles are way high. Looks like a commuter car.

I got to drive my friend's Lexus LFA recently and was also surprised the auto transmission quickly shifted up to 6th gear in normal city driving. Once it warmed up and I switched it to M, I was able to unleash the beast. Yes, it's all for fuel economy according to my friend who has gotten 12 mpg at best.

Thinking of making the same move in the (somewhat) near future and would love to hear your impressions on the differences (performance wise).

That is what the "Sport and Sport Plus buttons are for!!! Why didn't you push sport plus? Scared!!!!!!!!!! Your ? is kind of odd. Most all automatic transmissions in newer cars have a sport button to hold gear change's longer. Doesn't your current Porsche have sport and sport +??? It would also be almost impossible to drive a Turbo S winding every gear around town. So they have to make the car drivable and also fuel efficient to some degree.
