LOL...I can tell you guys have had enough
.
Well, I increased my offer to $50k via email. Told them "I'm not going a nickel more than $50k." They said $51k was as good as they could do and I was getting an incredible deal.
I told them no. It's only $1k and I'm probably cutting off my nose to spite my face, but I'm done (no, for real this time...I swear..errrr...unless they meet the 50k). It's just principal now. $51k might even be reasonable, but I want it for 50k...period....done.

I certainly see the principal but I personally would not let 1k stand in the way of the car if you really like it. Maybe meet half way at 500? If they won't do that then I might walk on principal, really because what is 500 anymore especially to a dealer.
Salesman has to eat just like us...
2006 911s
Gents thought I'd tack onto this conversation with a similar request to help me decide if this is a good deal. The short story is a pal loaned me his 911 Carerra and I was DONE!
I'm looking at a 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera S coupe. The specs don't say so however I see the center console clock so assume it is the Sport Chrono. The car has 40,000 miles and 2 owners. From appearances it looks like a driver, it's not perfect which is probably good meaning it was driven. The price is $38K I'm not in touch with the market so I very much appreciate the help.

As you likely know, there are so many options on these cars that impact pricing. You haven't mentioned anything about the car other than Sport Chrono possibility. BTW, the timer (not clock) is in the center of the dash, not the console. If you are relatively new to these cars, I would highly recommend spending some time (weeks or months) to become familiar with them enough to be sure you know what options, colors, features, model etc. you really want. It would be a shame to move quickly on something and then find you wished you had features it doesn't have. For many of us, the pursuit is half the fun. Suggest canvassing models of interest on Autotrader and getting a feel for the market as well as perhaps finding the car you want. If you really know what you want, it is often beneficial to look well beyond your city to find the right one at the right price. Good luck in your search.
That's helpful Ken. I examined the fact sheet and this car does not have Nav or a premium stereo and yes you are correct the timer is center dash thanks for the astute observation.
It has "adaptive" suspension which is the PASM as I understand. Leather seats...really "the ususal". Power seats, embossed headrests....
I could copy the fact sheet here but it's nothing.
