Is it just me? I took my car for a spirited mountain drive and it feels like a new car. Mpss, paddle shifting 2 sometimes 3 gears down, bam overtake, zig zag, cruise, downshift, overtake, pouring rain. Man this car is really worthit..... Home again let her cool down, wash her, take a glimpse then cover her up for the night. Beautiful day. The beauty of it is i can feel like that over and over again just by riding her!

Now, granted, I just got mine 3 weeks ago, but I still giggle every time I go out to the garage and see my car, and still have to pinch myself everytime I drive it to realize yes, it's actually mine. I don't see that feeling going away anytime soon, so yes, I think you're perfectly fine feeling that way.

 

I had a girlfriend once in my "yoot" that gave me similar feelings as was expressed in the last part of the OP. She liked to be paddle shifted too, so that was a plus.

 

Nope, I felt that way yesterday after a fun drive. The car is more fun to drive than I ever imagined it to be. After 10 months of ownership, just as much fun as it was the first week. Might be more fun as I'm becoming more familiar with the car.

I get that spirited drive itch weekly! But with a speeding ticket recently in a rental van I need to slow it down.

I took mine up over the mountain after work today, then out to the coast, then back up the mountain, through the redwoods and down the other side again. I found myself on occasion howling at the sky with joy.

I couldn't wipe the smile off my face, and somehow magically all Priuses, Subarus, and Motorhomes pulled off to let me pass as I approached.

There was a particularly nice stretch down one of the twistier passes, chasing a fella on his sport bike. I think he was surprised to check his mirrors now and then and see I was still right there. - I mean, I wasn't up his tail pipe, but he wasn't getting away either -

It really is a feeling that goes beyond words. All this on my aging and well worn tires... I can't wait to try it again with the new Super Sports I'm putting on tomorrow.

I think it's a full moon too. I bet I'll be howling at that moon! hahaha.
