Hi, i'm new to the forum. Just bought an 05 997 c2s mt. I'm wondering if x51 headers and air box are worth to buy? If not, what brands are you guys suggesting. Hope people here can share the experiences.

 

It kinda depends on what you're hoping to get from the mods.

 

more power and torque for sure, lol now i have the fabspeed muffler, plan to add headers and softronic flash

 

If you look at my signature you'll see that I have most of the mods you're looking at. The most noticable difference in torque came from the Fabspeed 200 cell cat x-pipe, Fabspeed Headers, X-51 airbox, Tune combination. Going with what you currently have, I would for sure get the cats/tune before the headers and tune. The headers will improve the sound, but more power will come from the cats and tune. FYI: the price for the x-51 headers has gone up and are now similar priced to the fabspeed long tube headers. IMO, I would stick with one vendor for the exhaust as they are designed to work as a system.

 

does the equal length long tube headers work better than the regular ones? now i found an used x51 headers, so i'm deciding whether i should get it first since the price is half of the new one

 

I would get the x-51 headers all day long if you found them for half price. The long tubes won't be that much better to justify the price difference. One thing to keep in mind, if you go with the X-51 airbox, contact Softronic directly for the X-51 tune. Talk to Scott and mention my username and he will know what you're talking about. The out of the box softronic will not compensate for the large increase in airflow by the X-51 airbox.
