Maserati Spyder

I am looking at a 2004 Maserati with the 4.2 Ferrari designed engine and the F1 paddle shifter. The quality control is fantastic and the leather upholstery is the best I have ever seen. 900 miles showing and absolutely new throughout. I sincerely believe this car would at least stay with my old 996TT.

Comments

Thanks

stay with your old TT ? Not a shot pal. I have driven that car and the standard 997 drives much better. The 05 Maseratis are a little nice with the new nose and ground effects and improved HP

Me no likey. Drove one like 3 years ago when I had an XKR convertible. It was slower than that and not a patch on the TT. The TT is a sports car...

The car, while nice, would get blown into the weeds by a 996TT. Given the 1/4 mile times of the 997S, it would have trouble keeping up with that car, let alone a TT.

it'a nice car but i would put my egg on the P basket on this one.

The spyders are not as reliable and not as well finished.
However, it is rare on the road though..

IMO that's a chick car...I would only like to drive the coupe or the sedan (one of the very few sedans I like)

I second the chick car. There is a reason they are not popular and cheaper. A f car engine alone doesn't make it a good car.

So its agreed. The Mas is a great car and everyone will trade in their P cars for one tomorrow, NOT!
Anyway I bought the car, had it a week and its only been in the shop two days.
I have owned 5 P cars and got a little tired of looking at the same dash. I did go to my local Porsche store looking for a 997 coupe. They had one but the color combo wasn't what I was looking for. Sitting on the showroom floor was the Maserati and it was so different I fell in love with the car.
Thanks for the comments.

Saw a white one with blue racing strips in Sorrento Valley on Friday. Had some fierce exhaust sound. The car is good looking and can certainly stay with the NA Porsches. Congratulations.

I think the mas is a stunner.

I saw one and it really looks better in person though i would be really worried about reliability issues.

I have owned severl 911's and they are great. The Maser Coupe is quicker and has alot more torque than a 993, 996 and a 997. The 997 has a slight edge in speed but not much. The fit and finish is as good or better than the 911's. definately more luxurious. However, I will say the 911 is a tighter car than the Maser and better in the twisties.

It's a great car.

The 997S has a smaller motor with 2 less cylinders but will still whoop on the maserati stock for stock in a straight line or in twisties.
