Car sat for 2 weeks. Started it up, and had a hummmm from the hood latch at the front. Pulled back the carpet in the trunk compartment and can feel the white plastic housing vibrating. When I turn the car off, it continues to humm. Can only stop it by disconnecting battery. Does anyone have any tips on how to change the switch?

bumper is EASY to take off. prob about 15min once you know how to do it. there are DIY's all over the place. i've had mine off a couple times but i cant remember if that mechanism is even behind there. something tells me it would be inside the frunk somewhere, behind the carpeting maybe?

Sounds like a faulty front control unit. I had the same problem years back on a 2005 997S. Does the 'Service' light come on as well?

Thanks for the hints and tips
Yes, looks like bumper is easy to take off, but i'm going to take it and the new part to the shop and let the mechanic do it. The check enging light is on, and now after disconnecting the batter, the air bag light is on, and some Alert Message - SEE DEALER is flashing. Too many lights and warning messages for me!!! Especially when the car is running awesome!

I'm now convinced its the 'front control unit'. It cost around $200 plus labor since it is behind the front fascia.

Hope all turn-out ok. Does not sound like anything major however!
