Retrofit PSE

Considering retrofitting PSE to my 997.2 C4S, and having dealer do the work. Can anyone weigh in on this? I haven't asked for a quote yet, but wondering if others have purchased it from Suncoast and had it installer vs. going through the dealer.
Not thinking aftermarket due to warranty and resale value issues. Thanks!

Why not just go with the gundo mod?

I did a retrofit on my 2009 997.2 cab via the dealership and love it. Keep in. Ind that in addition to the cost of the PSE, it will be about 8 hours for labor. You should be able to get a discount via PCA on the PSE (and possibly something off of the labor).

I also added a Fabspeed X-pipe and it is great too (now that it was checked and installed properly).

If you want to chat, feel free to send me a PM.

I had it installed on my 997.2 at my local Porsche dealer and I am very happy! The dealer added the exhaust button and yes I do have the Sports Chrono. If you are purchasing Porsche parts I would recommend having the Porsche dealer installing it so it is included with your warranty.

I have a '10 C4S too and had the PSE installed at the dealership- the complete install as if it came on the car from the factory. I love it. My wife, who drives the car 90% of the time enjoys being able to go "stealth mode" when arriving or departing work.

I have been considering the retrofit as well. Price quoted with full install (094Scab) is 4500 in southern Ontario.

Thanks for all the helpful replies! I do have Sports Chrono. I really like the idea of being able to drive around in stealth mode, which is why I'd rather spend the money than do the gundo hack.

Quick question about the Gundo hack; can it be done on a 997.2? My casual inspection of the exhaust system on a 997.2 showed it to be very different from a .1 with no apparent "path" for the connecting pipe. Did I miss something? Thanks,

Must be paired with X pipe! Do not question this, just plan on doing it at the same time. And forget the button. Button is for "corvette guy". Make no mistake, the sound is not that of WRX or Civic coffee can...this is pure exotic bliss and should be shared with everyone in your neighborhood, even more so between 2-5am.

I bought the Fister exhaust and saved $4000. I guarantee that I would have unplugged it to be on all the time so it would have been a complete waste of money for me.

My car came with PSE...no way would I have paid what they want for it. I would try the X pipe and Gundo before anything.

Why not try a set of Fister exhaust first? If you don't like them you can sell them here and likely get most of your money back. I've tried almost every combo out there (yes $$$$)...
