He's done probably four sets of radio or climate control ***** for the 987 or 997, I'm exceptionally happy with the quality of the end product, how quickly he gets them back, and the reasonable pricing. There is a DIY instruction on his website.

I had minor damage that I was able to correct with Testor model paint - flat black, and a small paint brush. $5 at hobby lobby. Cleaned with alcohol first.

Isn't it funny how these little things can drive you nuts? My paint is wearing out in a circular pattern around my volume ****. These little pieces are so visible, yet so poorly made, and without a reasonable fix. Forgive my rant, but people driving "lesser" cars just don't understand. It's hard to get any sympathy when you're driving such an otherwise amazing car. Maybe the parts are designed to fail, just to give us something to do.

 

At least those buttons are cheap and easy to replace.

 

The buttons are cheap, but fixing the worn paint involves removal of the head unit, removing and replacing about 25 buttons, and either repainting or replacing the face. It's a big job for a minor problem, on par with the temp button.

 

Oh I thought you had a 997.1
