Q re: retrofitting nav?

If a 997s doesn't have nav, can it be retrofitted? If so, how much?

thanks.

Mines in the shop now for a Nav install.
Porsche is charging around 2,800 for parts and around 4 hours of
labor(560).

The kit retails for about 2600.00 ( includes brackets and proper waveguide/fibre optics cableing ) Labor at 560.00? Seems a bit high, I do it for about 350.00

i had mine retrofitted when it arrived. i'm in san francisco. the dealer (Carlson) told me they would install it and throw in the labor, but it still came out to be about $2800, even though they threw in the labor and the DVD disc(which is a few hundred dollars). so, i guess the nav system costs about $2800 not incl parts and dvd disc?

I purchased a new 997 that did not have the NAV, but added it for list (since the car was new). The dealer told me the wiring took a long time (I think they will charge a lot more next time). Following the installation, my car reported multiple system faults and the cruise control stopped working. It took them two tries to get it corrected.

When I ordered my 06 997S Club Coupe, the salesman said to not even try to swap the NAV from the other car because of this experience. I took his advice and ordered the 997S with NAV and all the other essential options (Bose, CD-6, PCCB, etc.)
