Wink Most Expensive Car Wash of My Life!!

Went to my dealer Saturday for a weekly wash and took a 2014 S Coupe for a test drive while I waited. BIG MISTAKE!

Result ...

As you can see, the mods have already started! And only 2 days in!! Wheel spacers (7/15) from the outgoing 997.2 will be installed later this week.

The upgraded PDK in the 991 is so much better than the previous 997.2 version. I compare it to going from Tiptronic to PDK - its THAT dramatic of a difference. The interior goodies are much more civilized in the 991 than the ".2" so it works better for me as a daily driver.

Here is the outgoing vehicle looking for a new home at Porsche Plano...

As an FYI, I will have a PDK thick paddle shifter wheel (my 991 already has a paddle wheel) and FVD Brombacher exhaust (absolutely outstanding F1 sound at WOT! Just crazy good!) for sale in the coming days from the 997.2 - dealer is removing for me...

Enjoyed the ownership of (2) 997's, but couldn't resist the allure of the 991 any longer.

Take care everyone!

Dave

Thanks guys ... really wasn't looking to change, but enjoyed my test drive enough to make the switch. Now I'm starting all over, but I've made "upgrades" already I am very happy with. The full glass (panoramic) roof provides a nice contrasting line down the roof line.

Interesting, there is a big difference in gear shifts from my vehicles. PDK in the 997.2 is fantastic (not suggesting otherwise), but the 991 is just much quicker and smoother. Like/love them both!

Dave

PS I have already received a couple inquiries on the exhaust. I'll work through the inquiries in order - please understand. Exhaust was to be removed today from the 997.2 at Porsche Plano. The Brombacher system is just insane - nice respectable sound at normal throttle, and crazy (F1) at WOT! Love the overpasses!!

I'm interested in the paddle shift wheel for 997.2. Let me know the price and when it'll be available.

Send me a pm. Extras were being removed by the dealer today.

Are you a cop? Or Internal Affairs?

In 2007, I purchased my first Lamborghini at the dealer in the Columbus, OH area. While driving through Ohio I was pulled over for excessive speed. I swear I wasn't speeding officer.

He was actually VERY nice and professional; and let my friend (driving my M3) take a picture.

No more to the story than that ... I swear.

What's puzzling? I'm 10 minutes from the dealer and hand washes are free, unless you pick-up accessories or car at the same time. I've done both now ...

I have a leather Porsche belt I've worn once because I forgot to wear a belt one day. Interested?

He was actually very nice! He understood I guess as I had just picked it up and was "playing around" with it when away from traffic - promise. My buddy and I still talk about it when we are together (he lives in Louisville).

Be safe!!

Dave
