Gundo hack in the GTA

Tried the search, couldn't find anything.

Can any one in the Greater Toronto area recommend a shop for this mod?

Not sure if this help but I simply took my exhaust cans to a backyard muffler shop, showed him the pictures and gave him $100 cash and next day I had my perfect gundo

Any muffler shop like Midas cars do it, just tell them how to add the pipe, if you are not sure there are lots of pics here and on rennlist.

When I looked into this, most shops in my area did not have the ability to do proper all-stainless (TIG) welding. There were shops that would do it with improper welds for cheap, but those are likely to rust out and crack over time. The only place nearby I found that could do it with proper TIG welding and stainless pipe wanted almost as much as FD Motorsports (who has this down to a science), so I went the FD motorsports route and ended up with a quality product. (Although I wasn't happy with the sound and went another route a few weeks later, but that is not the point of your question). Its only costs a couple of hundred dollars extra to get your beautiful and costly Porsche done up right, why cut corners on this one?

Gundo Hack with 2" pipe

Just did my Gundo hack with 2" pipe at Tech Tune Exhaust on Norseman and Kipling for $320. Sounded amazing, not too loud but nice deep tone above 3k.. Worth every penny IMO. Steve is one man shop and does an excellent job.

Thanks ,seems a bit $$, but if they did a good job may be worth it.

Did you have to leave it with them?

I personally took the cans off and brought them to a welding shop.
going to a welding shop not having the tools to do stainless is like going to a mcdo not having bigmac...

Steve at Tech Tune exhaust has done a few of this Gundo Hack with 2 different version to pick from. One with a pipe weld between inlet and outlet exhaust and the other version(the one i had), the other version is welding an extra long pipe from the edge of the muffler plus the pipe between the inlet and outlet exhaust. You can remove the 2 cans and takes it to there to have it done as it should be cheaper under $200 i think.

That is a good price for the modification IMHO and a bargain for a Porsche. The other options are thousands more. I had mine done locally by Midas and I want to kick myself for not doing this MOD earlier.

I would remove the cans, take them to a fabrication shop. Easier to work on them, better outcome and cleaner welds if not on the car.

One risk is that metal parts fall into the cans and then rattle around in the cans - easier to control if you have the can on a bench.

Sorry I don;t know of any shops in the GTA...

Gundo
