RS engine mounts vs Suncoast RS style engine mounts for 997.1 C2S
RS engine mounts vs Suncoast RS style engine mounts for 997.1 C2S
Hi, anyone has these on can share their experiences? Are the 2 brands similar or even the same? Suncoast stated it's the genuine porsche part. I've never used RSS before so wondering how good it is compared with the genuine porsche part. Also is this mod worth the money?
thank you
thank you
First what are you trying to achieve? Are the current ones giving you problems? If so, how old or worn are they?
You'd have to ask these questions and proceed accordingly. The car came with the parts and unless they have failed or not met your criteria why even consider a switch?

I have the Suncoast RS engine mounts. The RSS and Suncoast ones achieve the same results, but the RSS ones are nicer
. My Suncoast RS came with 1 inch shorter bolts, thus, I had to find a longer bolt to secure them to the frame. A Panamera engine mount bolt did the trick.
In terms of performance, there is a difference. Car feels more solid in corners. There's no slushing of the back end in tight corners and long sweepers. You will have more NVH, as in hearing the engine more and feeling the vibration more in the steering wheel.
Is it worth it? Only you can decide that. In my case, it was and still is. I feel more connected to the car.

Thank you. The RSS one does look nicer
I have the RSS mounts. There is a definite improvement in overall feel and shifting is more precise. There is noticeably more NVH, but I kind of like it as it feels more "sporty". However, around 3000 RPM with light throttle there is quite a noticeable vibration, both feel and noise. It was actually making the rear license tag vibrate really loud, but some foam tape under the plate fixed that.
Interesting that you guys have a vibration at 3000 rpm under light throttle. My does not...go figure.
