Suggest what to buy: 997.1 SC > 997.2 PDK > 997.1 Turbo

So what you guys recommend me to get:

997.1 2S SC
Pluses:
Easy to get power.
Car is not so expensive.
Cheap service.
Minuses:
IMS
Old school PCM look so dated!!

997.2 2S PDK
Pluses:
PDK.
New great looking PCM.
Updated look.
Minuses:
There is no SC on the market, so this mean there is no power!
Car is ~ same price as with 997.1 2S SC.

997.1 Turbo
Pluses:
Power out of the box!!
Great stock looking exterior!
Minuses:
Car is much more costly than 997.2 2S PDK!
3x time costly service.
Old school PCM look so dated!!

p.s I am comparing power gains with my ex N54 335i // 410 HP. As i want to get much faster street car than i had before.

Thanks

I would get a 997.2 GTS, which has the X-51 Power kit on the wide body platform.

If money is no object you can do almost anything. Me I'd probably buy the Turbo turn into RWD, flash the ECU, new diverter valves, exhaust, and some suspension tweaks. Though I'd so with a gearshift car.

Sorry, but the main object is the money... As other way i would take a 997.2 Turbo PDK... But..

Anyway now i am looking at IMS problems for 997.1.. And this drives me crazy... As before the car buy there is no way to check it.. As i am form EU and car would be will be purchased on USA auctions..
p.s Maybe someone had exp with modded 335 vs some mods 997.2 2S?

If you want to get a MUCH faster street car then your 410HP 335, the car staring right at you is the .1 Turbo. You can get rid of the old PCM as a drawback by buying an '09 (though you'll see a very noticeable price increase) as they have the touch-screen, newer modules. As mentioned do the ECU/exhaust and you will have the speed you're looking for. Once you're tired of that, you can look in about a million places on this forum to move onto the next level and up your power.

What are you looking to get out of the car? Day driver? Straight line performance important? Going to the track? Weekend warrior in the canyons?

I've had factory-NA cars with aftermarket superchargers and would never do it again. Every time there's a noise or the slightest problem, most shops will have no idea what to do with it. Maybe different if you're doing all your own work.

Also lol at 385HP being "no power".

Talking about SC i can do all work by my own. Anyway it would be daily car. But i do safe & hard drive.. Yeah 385HP is good, but i am comparing it with my ex car.. :| So it was twin turbo car.. So for the city drive turbo is really nice as you get much torque power i never drove 997.2 C2... so i dont know how it feels!

Why does a turbo cost more to maintain? My 997.1TT has been no different for my 04 996 40th edition. You might change plugs earlier but if you keep it stock and I am sure they would last just as long.

I would pick the turbo because every post you read on here is how do I get more power. Why not just start with it!

My .02 is that one would likely want an N/A car for just city drives as the power is instantly on tap and it revs higher. No questions asked for longer/higher speed pulls (60-130+), it's a different ball game and it's forced induction FTW hands down. But if you're in a densely populated city and don't have 6 lane highways and most of your fun is done between lights and under 110 mph, you're likely not going to be missing out on a ton if you go with a 997.2 N/A car.

Yeah turbo is really nice! But it depends on what price i will find it..
And turbo parts (brake pads and so on) are more expensive.. I have checked it on pet 7.3 and seems it is 2/3x time more than 2S.

Sounds great! I like your post! As you told my fun is between lights and from one mall to another..

I did pads on both cars. I don't remember the TT pads being much more if any. You need to check with Suncoast or Sunset on parts pricing.

From what I gather you want a street car over a track car. I also had a fully modded 335i for a few years, then went to an e92 M3. The M3 was far superior, but given it was an NA high-revving V8, it certainly didn't feel as fast as the tuned 335i I had (although for me, I didn't car as I wanted more of a track oriented car). I only say that as context for my next point. You probably won't feel that a NA 997 (.1 or .2) is going to feel "that fast" coming from a high-torque twin turbo 335i. Trust me, I know how fast those cars are and my 335 was still the fastest car I've had driven in a straight line.
911s are more of the whole package; balanced for both agility, power and braking. If you want a street car with power, you would probably be most/only happy with a turbo in my opinion.

Have you not thought about supercharging an E9x M3? Have you thought about the new M3/M4? Those are absolute animals from every review/magazine that is out right now. Trust me though, I much prefer the look of a 911 so I get it.

What is your budget?
