Here's a Mystery: Lower Control Arm Dripping?!?
Here's a Mystery: Lower Control Arm Dripping?!?
Front driver's side by the inside edge of the tire I see what looks like an oil drip. More like oil mixed with a little bit of water. A little bigger than a quater on the ground. Oil drip in the front of the car?!? The engine is in the back. So, up on jacks we go.
Here's the source, from the bottom of the puck on the driver's side LCA. What? There are no fluids in this suspension component. The top side is completely dry. No leak marks either showing the source. Where is this coming from? Shocks? They look completely clean and dry. Brake lines? Again clean and dry. Drip from above? No evidence anywhere.
At first I though maybe I hit a puddle and the water mixed with grease? Stretching here especially since the car has sat in the garage all week. Last weekend I noticed it for the first time and wiped everything off. Today it's back.
OK people, help me out. Anybody have a clue?

Now I'm really confused. I thought this was a solid rubber bushing. But here's some after sales literature from Porsche mentioning this is a hydraulic mount (see attached, letter D in the upper left picture)
Can someone confirm if this mount is fluid filled or solid rubber?

Think its fluid filled. Semi, where did you get the reference pages you posted?? Looks like a good item maybe you can share with us.
Hydraulic filled bushes are not new. They have been used is cars for more than a decade. The merc w140 had hydraulics lca bushes too that leaked when damaged, thats more thaN 10 years ago.
