GT3 full body kit on my 997.2

Hi all, I have a 2011 Carrera S(997.2) and I am thinking of doing a full GT3 body kit. I just love the GT3 body. I know going OEM would be pricy. So the question is should I go OEM or should I go with another brand which will be cheaper ? Yes, I am price motivated but don't want to put junk on an 80k car.
Part 2 of the question - Once I decided weather to go OEM or after market, based on the input of you fine folks, then the question becomes is this something that any decent body shop can do? Or should I go to a Porsche specialized place? I think I am near a Porsche shop called sharkwerks and I've heard good things about them but I've also heard they are kind of pricey.

I heard some good things abiut sharkwerks but I don't know their work personally. But I would go with OEM front bumper and rear bumper with aftermarket spoiler. And please no junk on the car or GT3 badge after the work is done

Definitely go with OEM bumpers, the fit and finish will be correct. The aftermarket products often have mounting issues, and will require some work to fit.

At all costs avoide buy junk like Wicked sells. If you are entertaining them just do a search in the forum. They were booted as a sponsor.

As Got said no Gt3 badges, it's bad form. I'm sure you love your car but any reason not to sell your car private party and pick up a gt3? May be a few more bucks but the resale on those is probably the best in the 911 line up. If it's just aesthetics I get it. Either way good luck and post a few pictures once done.

There is a guy on the forum that is selling a black GTS with a full OEM GT3 body kit. He recently mentioned he was thinking about turning it back to stock to sell it quickly. You might shoot him a message.

Haha I most definitely won't put a gt3 badge on mine. (Although I do like the 991 badge that reads: "PORSCHE")

Anyway, I did mull over the option of just selling mine and buying a GTS or an 08 gt3, but I'm in California and I will immediately lose the 10k in taxes I just paid for my carrera (I just bought it a few months ago) and I will also need to pay taxes again on the gt3 (another 10k), plus the difference from carrera S to a gt3(roughly 10k) so it's actually 30k more that I would be paying if I buy a gt3. Not cool :-(

Do you pay tax for private seller car in CA? I am making the deal with the guy selling his GTS conversion to GT3 but he not very prompt reply to my request. He now said "some dude willing to pay $78k" but he listed for sale at $73k. I am a little confuse of what he really to want sell it for. All and all, I lose my interest on that car, unless he get back to me with all the answers for my questions. Oh well, there are always anothe 911 out there.

Yes, in CA when you buy a car from a private seller, you pay what is called "use tax" instead of sales tax. It's basically the same amount as sales tax and you need to pay it to the DMV when you first transfer the vehicle title into your name. (The tax is basically 10% of whatever you and the seller put down as the sales price on the title transfer form)

Does anyone have any feedback on non-OEM urethane bumpers? There's a place in Las Vegas selling them for around the cost of fiberglass. It would seem that urethane would have a far better chance of proper fitment. I looked into what the OP is considering , but opted out due to clearance concerns. I need to be able to drive in the real world, and won't consider low hanging fiberglass in the front, or any splitters.

Slightly off topic, but why with the current tech available, 3D laser scan and possibly 6-axis lathes or 3D printing, are there still such problems with fitment?

I'd like to know as well. My aftermarket Aerokit wing fit like a pea in a pod.
