Has anyone seen a comparison review between the 997 S and M6?

Car compared the two along with the Ariel Atom a few months back. They said that the 997S was the superior driver's car and made the M6 seem clumsy in tight turns. The M6's major advantage was its massive horsepower output.

And how did the Ariel Atom compared to both cars... I know it would trash both cars because I drove a 160HP Atom couple of months ago when I visited the company and had already put down a deposit for their 300 version for over a year now. Never drove a 997S but drove GT3 and I can tell you the atom will surprice you a lot.. I was stuned at the acceleration from the 160 God knows how the 300 feels... The M6.. well not my cup of tea.. I use to love BMW's before but the new styling is not growing on me at all. But I respect the M6 for it's sufistication and amazing engine. If I had to rate all 3 cars. I would say the Atom is leading by a fair margin. then the M6 purely for it's performance and engine and not for it's looks and then the beautiful 997S..

that's what i'd say too, the M6 is a really fast luxury coupe, but it's still a GT. now if it lost 300lbs and its rear seats and shoved that V10 up its ***... then i'd favor the M6

there is no way 997 S will outrun the M6 .... a simple drag race between SLK 55 and 997S cab (tiptronic) , i'll leave the answer for you...

but i'll take the 997 S anyday , anytime , anywhere ....

Got some questions for you!

When are you getting the Atom?
What color?
What engine is in the 300hp version? Civic Type R engine with S/C?
How much is the 160hp version?

TIA - Felix

The simple fact of the matter is that the 997s pisses all over the M6. And why compare an SLK55 with a 997S tip???

Take them to the track or a country road and the M6 would be left well behind. It's based on a sedan, its C.o.G. is too high, and it weighs a ton. Leave winning on the straight line stuff to girlies who can't drive around corners and can't shift their own gears.

Well they said it is almost finished so I am hopping in couple of weeks it will be ready to be sent over here.. By Air i can't really wait any longer hehehe..

Color was a big choice problem with me.. same thing happen when I was getting the 997.. I wanted black but my brother said that people might not see you coming so I went for a silver.

The 300 version is the one with the Japanies spec K20 engine with a supercharger giving out what they claim to be 300HP but I think it is more in the range of 250HP which is more than enough for it..

Not sure how much is the 160 version is for but the 160 got the UK spec k20 engine not a type R engine. Prices really depends on what you are looking for.. If you are intrested you can call them and speck to Simon he is the owner of the company and a very very nice guy. If your thinking about getting something like this then you won't be disapointed.. I would get an Atom over a Radical any day even the new SR8 Radical. Because it's not as reliable and not much fun.

I think of either car as an M5 and GT3 packaged into one box. The 997S is closer to the GT3 and the M6 is closer to the M5.

If you are never gonna track it get the M6.

Yes going to register it for the road. But I am going to use it mostly for the track. My brother and I always in direct competition with each other and when we go to the track we use different cars and can't tell who is better. So this is going to settle everything as the car ordered got a telemetry data storage thing which recordes lap times and draws a map of the track by it self and you can compare driving styles of 2 drivers on where they brake and accelerate and who is faster on which corner and so on..

If your thinking of getting one just stop thinking and get one.. I drove a 160 with Simon and it was nothing I have ever experianced.. and reliablity well it's a honda

Straight ahead 0-60 the m6 will compete with the 997TT, forget about a stock 997s ... If you will be visiting the track often you know the right answer though...
