ModBargains.com l 997 Porsche Carrera S on Forgestar CF10 Gunmetal Wheels

We recently had the pleasure to work on kenny832's 2007 Porsche 911 Carrera S. Before we go into the new wheels, here is a little info about what has been done so far. We worked on this car a few weeks back when we fitted it with a set of Avant Garde Ruger Split Porsche wheels and lowered it on some Eibach pro kit lowering springs.

The springs were an ideal choice for this customer’s needs. It gave the car a mild drop of approximately .6 inches both front and rear (owner verified using a measuring tape, that was the final drop height after a week), bringing it down quite a bit visually without taking away from the driveability of the car. Onto some pictures!

Rear: 19×11 ET52

Although the Avant Garde Ruger split Porsche wheels look sporty and classy, kenny832, had a different vision for his P-Car. It wasn't long before he got new set of shoes to mix it up and keep things interesting. We ended up going with a set of the Forgestar CF10 Porsche wheels finished in gunmetal. The 10 spoke wheels feature a sporty track inspired design, making them the perfect fit for this Porsche 997 Carrera.

Rear: 19×11 ET52

Rear: 295/30/19

From this angle, this 997 Porsche Carrera S on Forgestar CF10 Gunmetal Wheels just kills the game – it’s a perfect match for the style and look of the car and gives it a customized look that’s tasteful and classy without being obnoxious or undrivable.

The Forgestar CF10 wheels look so much better than the Avant Garde wheels. Coincidentally, have a set of Forgestar CF 10 in Gloss Gunmetal scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday. The pics you posted are the best ones I have seen of the CF 10 in Gunmetal.

The Forgestar CF-10s look fantastic! I've been thinking about using my Carerra II wheels for the winter tires and getting something else for summer use. I've been popping my tires on and off as the seasons change and getting sick of it, plus my original wheels have some road wear.

I will mount my summer Michelin PSS tires on my Forgestar CF 10 wheels and install the Bridgestone RE970 A/S tires on the Carrera S II wheels for cold weather use.

Once the Forgestar wheels arrive, the Carrera S II wheels will get powder coated in a week or so and get put back on the car for the next few months.

I can't wait to see the Forgestar wheels on my car.

It is definitely more convenient to have a dedicated fall/spring/summer setup. The Forgestar wheels are an excellent choice. Forgestar makes a quality, strong, and light weight wheel for an affordable price point. They’re one of the most recognized brands and have won multiple awards at SEMA year after year. The wheels are manufactured in Anaheim California and they aren’t made overseas. All of their wheel models are pass SAE, JWL, and VIA quality certifications.

They are light weight, strong, and look awesome! It’ll give your car a sporty and aggressive look! The Forumla Drift champion Mike Essa is also running Forgestar wheels on his race car. You can check out a 2013 SEMA RECAP video below:

Post up some pics once you get them on the car. We are all waiting to see how it all turns out!

Kenny,

What center caps do you have on the Forgestar wheels? I was told that the Porsche center caps would not fit on the Forgestar wheels, which have a 60mm opening. I am trying to figure out how to get a Porsche crest on the Center caps. My vendor is going to include some Forgestar "F" caps and a set of blank caps.

Thanks,
Tim

Tim, those are the original forgestar (blank) center caps with a porsche foil embossed crest on top.

Thanks Kenny.

I think I have seen those embossed crests on the 'net, when I was looking for a solution to get some center caps with a crest on them.

Kenny,
Very nice 997. Wheels and stance look great. Been on the fence about going with Eibach springs. Any regrets or change in ride quality. I'm in San Diego so perhaps I'd have mod bargains do the install. Thanks

Thank you... I too was on the fence when I installed it but I have zero regrets. I didn't feel any difference in ride quality and it dropped it just enough for me. H&R drops it way too much for my liking.

I did it at the Modbargain in Brea, they did a pretty good job, they knew what they were doing.

I think short of making it yourself, they prob don't exist. I haven't found any myself, but let me know if you do!
