Questions about upgrading from comfort to adaptive sport seats

Will the memory function still work?
Is it plug and play?
Will there be a problem putting 997.1 seats in a 997.2 car? (i.e. seat airbag)

Adaptive sports seats are Must for me- I'm not sure if it would be plug and play, i think you should call a Pro on this one- even try Porsche Dismantlers in LA they will have the answer for you since they always sell those

I have done it and it is a pain, though in my case my car came with heated seats the seats I put in came out of a GT3 and were unheated (which is what I wanted). If I remember (this was 7 years ago) we had to rewire the connectors and clear codes, and the seat memory no longer works (though I cant say I could have gotten it to with more tinkering but I had no use for it) but that was never a priority for me. My car has never been to a Porsche dealer (warranty was voided 24hours after I bought it they tend to do that when you take the whole car apart) so they may be able to do things with factory parts I was not able to.

That sounds like a fun project. Did your car have memory to begin with? Did the GT3 seats have memory (some don't)?

I did have memory not sure whether the GT3 seats did, but no one else ever drives this car so I did not need the memory option.

Did you just crimp power wires from the main harness and wire them to that yellow main on the bottom of the seat? I'm having the same problem and I noticed that on my seat with memory that yellow plug is missing two flat pins that the non memory sport seat has. I think I can just pin wires to those two missing and crimp them to the power and negative on the factory harness, but I'm not positive.

Answers to my own questions, sorta. Ended up installing 997.2 GT3 (adaptive sport) seats.

Memory still works.
It was plug and play.
Airbag was the same.
