You get what you pay for --- rotors!

I am on my 3rd sets of Textar pads. The first 2 sets had no squeals.

Now, on my 3rd set, I have squeals even after about 300 miles. The squeal, though, is becoming less. So what's the difference the 3rd time around? The rotors!

I decided to try the vented non-drilled ones. Oh man, even the dust is about 400% more this time around. I am no engineer but I think the Textar aren't super compatible with these new rotors. Plus, I think the rotors and/or pads are wearing out more as exhibited by the brake dust.

Anyone knows who supplies the factory vented drilled rotors?

If the squeal does go away after a few hundred more miles, I'll probably switch to ceramic.

Just sharing info.

Perhaps I have the same amount of dust. It's just with the drilled ones, the dust probably settled inside the holes of the drilled vented rotors.

I am not sure if we're opening a rotor or break pad thread ;-)
But I have slotted rotors and no squeal at all with Porterfield R4-S pads

We've found after testing out a bunch of rotor/pad combinations that for the least noise - factory rotors are the best solution by and large.

This is the confirmation I was waiting for to confirm my theory.

Thanks for the confirmation.

OEM will most certainly be the quietest rotor to go with. I personally prefer slotted over drilled. Check out our parts catalog for some rotors.

I run Sebro sport slotted from Pelican Parts front and rear with pfc 01. Works well for me. Track only.

Drove the car the last few days in a more aggressive manner to escalate the pads/rotors mating process. And The squeal has lessen a lot.

I strongly believe (optimistically hoping) that in a week or two, the squeal disappears or about the same as the factory.
