Please take a few secs to answer question re: your water pump
It would be interesting to see the anecdotal data on water pump deaths to help determine the mileage point where replacement as a preventative measure is the way to go. I'm at 60k miles with no sign of trouble, but I plan to replace it as preventative measure next week unless these numbers strongly suggest otherwise.
Please take a few secs and tell me how many miles were on your car when your water pump died OR tell me how many miles you've now got on your car with the original water pump still pumpin'. Thanks!

PO replaced water pump at 19831 miles on 9/19/14 while still on lease. I was told it was preventative as an incentive for him to buy it when it came off lease but he went with a new 991. Currently at 24,800 miles.
06, 31K, no problems so far but check for warning signs all the time..
funny , my girlfriends Honda has 143K, no problems, but I do change Honda coolant every 50K, no oil leaks, seepage anywhere, original auto trans, car is amazingly reliable.

Just replaced the pump 3 weeks ago as preventative. Indy said it was the best looking original pump he's replaced on the 997 series. Did the thermo at the same time.
