X51 Intake

Hi Everyone,

Is a X51 Intake Manifold better than the stock manifold on a 997.2 S DFI car? I know it's an improvement on a 997.1 car but not sure on the .2.

Thanks for the knowledge
KC

I'd be wary of the "mix and match" approach to moding - X51 manifold was optimized for the X51 engine and its other mods...not sure what, if anything, it would do with a non-x51.

Not worried, suck, bang, blow. The faster and more the motor can push air, the more power it can make👌. Just need to know if the X51 Intake pushes more CFm than the stock 997.2 box or has larger diameter runners, and if it will fit.

😀

OK - so you're not asking about the X51 intake manifold but asking about the X51 airbox?? If that's your question I believe the answer is more air - two inlets should equal more air...but it is a very expensive upgrade and I'm not sure if 997.1 X51 airbox is a proper fit to the 997.2 engine. Let us know what you end up doing.

No, I am asking about the intake manifold. I need to know if the X51 Intake Manifold for a 997.1 is better than a OEM Manifold on a 997.2 9A1, and if it will fit. (60% sure it will fit)

Thanks,
KC

Don't know the the actual answer, but here are some part numbers to help you out:

Standard Versions
997.1 Intake Distributor 997.110.115.03 (two circular inlets, one is the distributor tube, the other a resonance tube)
997.2 Intake Distributor 9A1.110.115.01 (one large oval inlet)

X51 Versions
997.1 X51 Intake Distributor 997.110.115.40 (pretty sure it has a single oval inlet like the 997.2 standard version)
997.2 X51 Intake Distributor 9A1.110.115.40 (don't know about this one but would bet it's a single oval as well)

Unfortunately the PET diagrams do not show clear pictures of each version. So you want to go from 997.2->997.1 X51. Why not go from 997.2->997.2 X51 instead?

Now we are cooking with grease!!!

A. THANKS for the knowledge and Part #s!!!!
B. I have never seen a what a .2 X51 Intake manifold looks like, for all we/I know it might be the same as .1 X51 Manifold.
C. I would buy a .2 X51 but I have found a decent deal on .1 manifold and want to have an idea of if its worth it

Thanks a ton for the part numbers I wonder how much the .2 X51 intake manifold goes for? I didnt think we could get .2 X51 parts separately, cause I would also be interested in .2 X51 Headers

Thanks,
KC

Yes you can buy the individual OEM parts from just about any of the online dealers. Try Suncoast, Pelican Parts, Auto Atlanta, ECS Tuning, Sunset Porsche, and so on. You might need to search for the part number without the '.' Many of these sites have exploded parts diagrams too, very useful.

Here's a picture of the 997.1 two circular inlet intake manifold:

This is the 997.1 X51 oval version

And the 997.2 X51 version

Beautiful!! Thanks!!

Exactly what I needed to see, on the 9A1 motor X51 Intake the right side is "notched" as if to clear something. Unlike in the 997.1 X51 Intake so it will more than likely not work.

That said, the X51 Intake for the 997.1 I found was welded together, out of a Grandam car. It was sweet and only $699.

Looks like another reason to call sun coast but I can be patient for a while.

Thanks again for all the knowledge!
KC
