And the 997 wiper is mounted in the glass as opposed to the decklid on the 996. That's why I just removed the arm/blade and left the rest alone. Picture of my -06 before removal below. Not a great picture but I promise....remove the entire rear wiper assembly and you'll end up with a quarter size hole in the rear window.

I really like the look of it and wish I had it on my car. It looks functionally logical like it should be there on a daily driver which is how I use my car. If I had ordered the car, I would have gotten it.

Removed mine and made a custom plug out of SS or aluminum and painted black.

I'm with you. Functional and, to me, a bit reminiscent of the older 911s. My friend's 930 Turbo has one and I love it...but don't have it.

My C4S doesn't have it. But being in the Pacific Northwest, I thought I'd need it. But I was pleasantly surprised that even in the heaviest rains, at speed the water beads right off.

Mine does not have it and i really wish it had.

Yes it is a sport car but the weather is not always predictable and you never know when it's going to rain. When it's stuck in the rain, you really can't see much thru the rear screen. To me this is a safety concern. The rear wiper and the auto-dim mirror are the 2 option which I really wish my car had. There's absolutely no after market solution

I guess I am the contrarian here, but using the car as a daily driver in Iowa with periodic snow days etc., it comes very handy and practical and in my opinion does not take away from the great look of the car.

Yup it does, when going FORWARD at SPEED. But when slowly backing out of a marking lot space in our typical drizzle the window gets zero clearly due to motion and airflow. ;-) (so I added a backup camera )

When I got the car (used) I didn't even realize it was an option, figured they all had a rear wiper. Then one day at the dealership some of the guys from the shop were out asking me about the suspension and mentioning that I had a rare color combo being white with black interior and red belts and gauges. 2 of them pointed out the wiper as well and said it was another nice addition, so I have liked it ever since
