Need help with PASM
Need help with PASM
I live in Central California and was hoping to find a place that can disable my PASM so I can use my sport button again. I after aftermarket coilovers without PASM. If anyone could point me in the right direction, preferably to a shop close to Bakersfield, CA that can do this job, that would be appreciated.
Thank you all!
Thank you all!
Sport button is inactive because I disconnected the PASM. My current coilovers do not have PASM connectivity. Therefore, I get an error code on my dash regarding so.
Awesome! Your sport button is still functional, correct? I might be able to take a drive down this weekend if I get a day off.

Won't be in the office on the weekend though and my weekend is pretty full.
Ok. Maybe I can try to work something out next week. Thank you.

I just had my 2016 Cayman GTS with PASM retrofitted with x73 and the dealer could not get everything working.
In my case i have to either give up Sport Plus or PDLS .. They tell me its either or...
Right now i have PDLS working but no sport plus.
And my autostart/coast function is not working either..
Would LOOOOOOVE to find a solution to these ...
Please let me know.
Thanks.

You need to disable the PASM and unplug the module.
I am not sure where the module location is in your car and the disabling coding.
In my case, I decode using Durametric and unplug the module by the passenger side footwell.
If you want to come by, we can try figuring it out.
If your location in profile, LA is Los Angeles.

Nevermind, just re-read your post.

The Pasm unit is in the back compartment of the cayman.
Its interesting... I just wrote Durametric....Asking them about PASM disconnect and leaving PDLS etc intact... They responded telling me that their device cant handel things of that nature... !.....Yet i have read many posts saying it can..lol
Here is the catch in my case....The PDLS.. Porsche dynamic light system depends on PASM to align lights.. (According to the dealer )...
The Porsche dealer can set up my car so that the Sport plus works... But in that senario PDLS won't work and a headlight fault light will go on in the intrumant cluster..... The headlights will turn on.. But they won't move .
The other option which is what i have now ..is to have the PDLS work but no Sport plus...
In my present setup The PASM shock light comes on on the bottom right instument cluster (the little shock icon) ..and stays on......And on start PASM fault screen comes up but i can clear it.
I think but don't quote me on this:
In the case of PDLS staying intact.. The car sees PASM as installed but not functioning... Hence the PASM warning light. But yet gets the necessary signals from PASM box for it to function properly.
In the case of setting it so Sport Plus works... The dealer actually disables and removes PASM from the programing.. So the car does not even try to look for it.
In that case the car sees no PASM fault and allows the sport plus to function.
But PDLS Fails since it needs PASM.
Its pretty convoluted and a bit mysteriouse....if you ask me.
Specially that the same exact car that i have could have been ordered with no PASM...with x73 suspention and PDLS and Sport Chrono(sport plus) ...
So how does Porsche make all this work together on cars that are ordered with those set of features?
My only conclusion is that .. Porsche replaces the PASM unit with some other box that sends the necessary signals to PDLS.... Just guessing..
All this said.. There is still the Autostart/coast function that does not work either.. Arrrggg
In my gut i feel there has to be a viable solution to my conundrum .
Any thoughts?
P.S. I live in Burbank Area.. Not too far...

Thanks
Cheers
