Meguiars does the trick

Was impressed when fully set out to detail the car. Looking at the paint I noticed that it was full of scratches and swirl marks, after all my Silver Carrera had spent the last 3 years under the California sun. I had tried Griots polished, zymol but what really was needed was a paint correction. After a visit with friends at Meguiars, they suggested M100 followed by M205 (DA ) and then wax by hand. M100 is like liquid sand paper and removed about 90% of the paint defects. Then M205 cleaned it up so nice, was shocked that this polish made the paint look like new. Then I threw on some Ultimate Polish and that really made the paint pop. I had ordered some Chemical Guys Black light and tested a small spot but noticed that it made the paint a little darker so I opted not to use. I finished the car with Meguiars Ultimate Paste Wax.
Car looks like new again. Pictures to follow.

What combo do you guys use?

I've been searching for something new, and I'm really considering one of the new nano-coatings. I've used many of the popular brands. I used to use Griot's products, including Best In Show wax. I've stopped using the wax though, because it dries on the car like concrete. It's so difficult to remove it that I can't stand to use it anymore.

I used to use AutoGlym polishing resin but they stopped making it. That product did what the M100 did plus a little. I would wash, AutoGlym, clay bar, and then wax, worked great on dark colors.

Thanks for the new combo, I'' give it a try as my midnight blue is looking a little "blue."

Been using Zaino Z2 for my 997 for the past years with good result. The current trend has moved on to nano coating technology. Carnauba wax and synthetic sealant are now considered old school. All products provide good shine and water beading capability. The question always comes down to how long a particular product last (weeks VS months VS seasons VS Years). To a true car and detailing enthusiasts, durability shouldn't be a concern. Monthly wax job is part of the exotic car ownership experience.

I know! Griots requieres so much work. The nice thing about the Meguiars products is that it just wiped right off.

Been hearing alot about Zaino Z2. Is this all you use? Or do you use something else? Yes, Monthly waxing is the standard!

Let's not get confused. The hot batch of new coatings are not polishes, they are coatings, like an extra layer of clear coat but tougher. You need to get the paint perfect before using any of these new coatings such as 22ple, Opti, etc.

I have found what works best for our cars is Menzerna PF2500 with a DA polisher and a good cutting pad. Simply incredible shine!

I hand wash, clay bar, then use Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover, then Black Fire Black Ice. All by hand. Expensive but the c4 is black and that combination does an excellent job.

Count me as a fan of Meguiars products. When looking for detailing products these days it is complete info overload for me. So many choices and all claiming to be the best. Over the past 30 years of shining up my cars, I've tried different products and always return to Meguiars. Easy to use, reasonably priced, readily available and great results. That works for me.

About four months ago I felt particularly lazy and unmotivated to detail my 911. For the first time in my life I hired a detailer to wash, clay, polish and wax my car. The products they used? Meguiars.

Note, I have NFI or any connection whatsoever to Meguiars beyond being a satisfied customer.
