997.1 or 997.2 ?
I am 99% sure I have a 997.2 but after reading a few posts I wanted to be sure. Certainly the PCM is the newer one (read 997.2) and I think the tail lights as well even though they are all red. Are the rims specific to the model as well?
If you are certain I would greatly appreciate the insight.
Thank you

The turbos lagged a year behind the naturally aspirated models so your car, which I assume is a 2009 turbo is technically a 997.1 turbo. The 2009 turbo is unique in that it still has the 997.1 Mezger engine and gets the electronics (PCM)of the 997.2 so you get the best of both worlds.
It's a 997.1. The turbo 997.2 launched as a 2010 model in the US, as mentioned above.
The 2009 models have PCM 3.0. They also have optional ventilated seats and center lock wheels. The solid red tail lights were optional for the 997.1 cars.

It's officially a 997.1 even though some components are newer. Since many parts are interchangeable, you'll find some components designated for 996s on the 997 as well.
The clear distinction between the .1 and .2 is the bottom corner body line of the tail lights, regardless of colors.

I paid a lot of attention to the details regarding your question when I was in the market and can confirm what everyone is saying - your car is a 2009 997.1 - very nice car.
