Bumper Dimensions

Hello all, I'm installing the oem 3rd radiator kit on a 6spd 997.1. I'm at the part where I cut the exhaust vents in the underside of the front bumper, but to my surprise there are no markings where these vents should be.

I've read that others already had these vents sorta pre-cut and they just had to follow the lines but in my case my bumper does not have that. Can anyone with these vents give me some info on the dimensions of them and their locations so I can replicate them in the correct spots on my car?

Thanks Guys,

Ken

Huh??? I am not sure we are talking apples to apples here. Installing a center radiator on a manual 997.1 should not require any front bumper modifications. Lots of additional hoses, yes, but cutting the front bumper no.

I did a 3rd (center) radiator when I SC'd my car, and no front bumper cuts were necessary.

Please elaborate.

Are these 4 center holes necessary when adding the 3rd radiator? I thought the non gt3 radiator exits exhaust down and the gt3 exits exhaust up hence the "smile" that is in the front bumper.

If all those things are true, can I also conclude that the 4 vents in the bottom of the bumper are necessary? And if so does anyone have a template or some method of modifying the bumper correctly?

I forgot to mention it’s for a Cayman, but it should give you an idea. Ultimately, you need some openings to vent the air flow. Hope it helps...

AltVelo is infamous around these parts
I recall there are markings for those rectangular cut outs.

I read about the GT3 smile vent afterwards. Based on the position of the 3rd radiator, it seems to far rear ward to vent through the top.

I thought the same thing but for the life of me I don't see anything obvious . I have the bumper off and have inspected the inner and outer sides of it .
