eng.temp.sensor

Hi..maybe someone has an answer..

If the engine temp sensor goes bad, would I get a message ?
Would eng. comp. fan kick in and stay all the time?....would front rad fans kick in and stay all the time?
Thanks

I would think you'd get an overhot or reduced engine power message if it got to that point. The coolant temp gauge should really never move beyond about 175 as it's heavily buffered and does not show the real coolant temp. Attached is a document that shows where all the 997.1 engine sensors are located.

thanks for the input so far...
all I am trying to do, is to find out why BOTH front rad fans are always on...
DME sends and open command to them, why?
short in the circuit?
bad hvac control module?

had to replace dead hvac blower motor and at the same time replaced hvac blower motor resistor

I am trying to solve this with 'home remedies' before heading to the dealer....
