Rideheight with & without PASM
Rideheight with & without PASM
So does the S sit lower than the non S? After lowering, does the PASMless still have a significant wheel well gap? In my opinion, some of these S cars I've seen here almost seem a little too low. I get the feeling the ride height of a non S would be perfect after lowering. I could be wrong, possibly not enough diff. between the two cars, with & without PASM, to really notice. Any thoughts on this topic? Obviously my opinion is just that, but mainly looking for others thoughts.
According to what I read, the S sits 10mm lower than the non-S. Since PASM drops the height by 10mm when active, the S with PASM on should still be 10mm lower than the non-S with PASM on...and 20mm lower than the non-S with PASM off.
Mmmm... so what you're saying is when PASM is on you car is still lowered 10mm extra, no matter what?
I didn't know any of this... don't get me wrong!
I'm asking to make sure because i have my car lowered with H&R and it sits really low and i use PASM all the time so the harder damping avoid my front lip to get scratched since i have the Aerokit and the lip is way too low.

Here's what I just pulled from porsche.com:
"The standard chassis on the new 911 Carrera S rides 0.39 inches lower than on the 911 Carrera. Other unique features include continuous damping control in the form of Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM)."
If you pull up the suspenson specs, it shows 'PASM suspension' with a -10mm ride height compared to 'standard chassis'. So I understood that as: non-S, S (-10mm), S PASM (-20mm).
I could be wrong.

PASM does not actively lower or raise the car at all, it only alters the shock valving on the car. So there is no ride height difference whether PASM is on or off. Also, there is a -10mm difference between the S and non S that has nothing to do with PASM.

S vs non-S ride height
The S version has PASM standard, and the non S has it as an option. An S car rides lower because of the PASM option, and for no other reason. Operationally PASM cars are always active, the button on the console only engages the stiffness, and not ride height.
A C2 with the PASM option has the same ride height as an C2S with the option included.
