Just installed Fabspeed cat bypass and K&N intake

...to go along with my Fabspeed mufflers.

The result is... amazing.

The car now growls the way it should've been from the factory, much more throaty. Deep rumble at idle and at WOT it just screams...

Is it better to put the cover on the air filter part or not?

cat bypass

No check engine light?

I am thinking to do the same with my 996 c2 as i want more of a bark. The fabspeed mufflers alone is just not enough noise! ahhahaha

the catbypasses are freakin' loud. i had them on my car for a day. i also have headers and aftermarket mufflers. sounded awful to my ears. way over the top. maybe it's better with stock headers and mufflers.

Dont use that cover for the filter, only use it when you get into really dusty areas like say dessert

When I did the install last night their was an engine vacum line that went into the airbox. After removing the box the K&N intake had no where to plug it into. Please see the link 1/2 way down the page for a better explanation. What did you do?

Well I do remember that a hole need to be drilled in the tube, so I guess that's where it should be placed...

I think that step was left out of the directions, so I took the initiative to solve the problem.

I'm pretty sure it's somewhere within the manual, forgot which step # it is.

I thought the only drilling for a vacuum connection was for Tiptronic. Here is a pdf of the install instructions is anyone is interested.

Well my intake was installed together with the cat bypass and yes I can feel the gain in power.

It launches better and accelerates better too.
