Yeah, I do think the same. That speckled plastic feels 'cheap' to me. Hard brittle feeling. Surely they could better. It's a trend though, my wife's lexus has it and so do a bunch of bmws.

  6. the areokit front bumper should be a little higher.
  7. the car should sit 20mm lower w/pasm.
  8. not sure if the doors are lock
  9. the aerokit had some type of side skirts
  10. when drying I wish these brake were is to get the rusted water all out
  11. and the doors hold a lot of water too.

The sport chrono dial on the dash is useless. You can't read an accurate time from it. You have to read the digital readout under the speedometer, or look to the screen in the center column. The idea of having a built-in lap timer is good, but the big dial in the center of the dash is a waste. IMHO

Check the For Sale section, Shank has a brand new set with tires for i think $2,300?

I'll be selling my lobsters soon too... I have some custom HREs on order. I may sell w/ or w/o tires.

I HATE the key - I traded in my S4 for the 997S and the key is atrocious. Why not borrow the VAG key design (switchblade)?

Also the lack of satellite radio is a bummer. I miss Sirius...

Overall I am really happy to make the switch - this is a great car.

1. hate the key and ease of opening front trunk
2. sports chrono should have a setting to do 0-60 and 1/4 mile - auto start/stop
3. brake dust
4. thicker steering wheel like m3 should have been standard

OH YES - I didn't realize how thin the rim was until I got in... I figured the standard wheel would be thick enough. Too many BMWs have steering wheels that feel like holding the fat end of a baseball bat.

Call me cheap but the cost of tires and insurance irritate me.

Who do you have for insurance? Try esurance, my 6 month premium is like $600-700. Tires last me about a year, driving at 12,000 per year, So $1500 isnt too bad, once a year. The tires will last longer, obviously dependent on how you drive. I drive mine about 20-30 miles per day just make sure u don't burn rubber.

Insurance

I use Encompass. Insurance is about $2200 annually. Alot has to do with where you live. In NY its going to be higher than most places.

Well, there isnt much I DONT like

Had to think about this for a moment...

My minor issues:

1) Yes, this new key is flimsy, I dropped it accidently in the supermarket and pieces went flying everywhere, thought I was walking home with my groceries .. My Boxster key was solid and much better!!

2) When you wash the car and then dry it...you proceed to
open the back engine lid and a flood of dripping water comes out of the engine lid. Ok, sooo this happens by default but, .......it bugs me

3) Even the upgraded Bose system is not killer, speakers still need help!! I am installing my own system next PCAR...

4) Front rubber guard is 'useless', too small.. I think there could of been a better guard than a piece of rubber that eventually falls out of the grooves!!
